12-day holiday begins for lower secondary and secondary schools

A long holiday is starting in government and private educational institutions of the country on the occasion of the upcoming Sharad Durga Puja and other religious festivals. According to the annual holiday list of the Ministry of Education, educational institutions at different levels will have a holiday of 9 to 14 consecutive days.

Lower Secondary and Secondary Schools

On the occasion of Sharad Durga Puja, lower secondary and secondary schools will have a holiday of 12 consecutive days from September 28 to October 7. This holiday includes two days of weekly holidays. However, since the weekly holidays (Friday and Saturday) on September 26 and 27 just before the holiday, students of these educational institutions will enjoy a total of 14 days of uninterrupted holiday. In addition to Durga Puja, this long holiday period will include Fateha-e-Yazdaham, Prabarana Purnima and Sri Sri Lakshmi Puja. Teachers will be able to take optional leave on the day of Lakshmi Puja on October 6.

Primary Schools

A total of 9 days of holiday have been scheduled for government primary schools from September 28 to October 6. However, since the first two days of the holiday are weekly holidays, the students of this institution will have a holiday of 11 consecutive days. This holiday is usually given on the occasion of Durga Puja and Lakshmi Puja.

Government-Private Colleges and TT Colleges

Government-Private Colleges and TT Colleges are getting the most holidays. According to the latest notification of the Ministry of Education, there will be holidays in these institutions from September 28 to October 9. Including the weekly holidays, there will be a total of 14 days of long holidays in these institutions. This holiday has been announced on the occasion of Durga Puja and Probarana Purnima.
